Work Wear Does NOT Have To Be Boring

Work Wear Does NOT Have To Be Boring

My personal work style is more on the business casual side. Being a real estate agent, I really can dress however I like. Some realtors are jeans and a t-shirt kind of guys, some are full on business suit people! I stick to middle ground. A lot of times when meeting clients, they’re in sweats or leggings, so while I still want to look professional, I don’t want to do too much where they feel uncomfortable.

My idea of business casual is incorporating those classic professional pieces like blazers, pointed toe pumps or dress pants, while still creating a look that’s fun and sexy. For me, this means I’ll style a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans with a nice blouse and blazer. Or I’ll style dress pants with a leather jacket. Dressing professionally does NOT have to be boring. Of course, this depends on how lenient your offices’ dress code is— you can dress up or dress down any of these looks very easily! Swap ripped denim for a solid wash, or leather jackets for a blazer. Easy peasy. So let’s jump right into the six looks I styled! I’m sooo excited to share with you guys 🥰

Flared Pants + Lace Cami + Leather Jacket

My first outfit featured a pair of classic, flared dress pants in a fun animal print. Keeping it black and white makes it way less flashy and more professional. A dainty black lace cami and leather jacket complete the look and bring some edge. These Nine West pumps are my absolute favorite— they’re SO comfortable that I own them in multiple colors.

Blazer + Black Jeans + Simple Tank

I got this chic tan blazer during the Nordstrom anniversary sale this year (it’s 50% off right now too!!) and cannot get enough of it. I love this shade for fall. The black slit jeans I styled it with are such a staple piece, along with the best quality tank top I’ve come across in a long time. Paired again with my trusty pointed toe pumps!

Boyfriend Jeans + Linen Blazer + White Blouse

My AGOLDE boyfriend jeans are the best investment piece I’ve purchased in awhile. I get SO much use out of them. I think their loose fit gives them more of a modest, business vibe. This outfit is by far my favorite look of the bunch! The white button blouse is actually a bodysuit, so it stays tucked in place perfectly. Loveee the versatility of the linen blazer. And I cannot wait to wear these croc flats all fall long!

Pencil Skirt + Chunky Sweater

A pencil skirt is always a good option when trying to look professional. I purchased the exact one I’m wearing at Aritzia a few years ago so I could not find it online, but I linked a similar one. A chunky knit sweater easily brings a casual vibe to any outfit.

Midi Dress + Block Heels

Both of these pieces are Something Navy! The dress is sold out in white, but it has this gorgeous mustard color for fall. The shorter height block heels are so different than any other piece I own, and quite comfortable.

Dress Pants + White Tee + Wool Coat

At least one look had to have a classic black dress pant! My favorites are always from Express. They’re extremely good quality, with a great price point— you can almost always find a deal on their website. I paired this look with a plain white t-shirt and my favorite Halogen wool coat (a few seasons old, but I linked a couple similar!). These Steve Madden studded loafers are another pair of flats I can’t wait to wear nonstop this season.
