Basement Reveal
Hi all!!
My basement finally feels (mostly) complete, and with it being decorated all pretty for the holidays, I thought what better time to reveal than now?
Just an FYI, a lot of the stuff in the room was either bought years ago, passed down to me from my parents house, or purchased at Home Goods. But I tried to link everything I could find, or at least something similar.
I really wanted the basement to feel super cozyβ I donβt have a fireplace anywhere in my house, so I thought an electric fireplace of some sort would be cool! I found this affordable option on Wayfairβ¦ it omits heat and everything, and was one of the more βlife likeβ looking ones I could find. I personally donβt care for the ones that light up with every color of the rainbow, lol. I love when they look somewhat realistic! I just recently bought the Samsung Frame TV during a Black Friday sale and omgggg, Iβm obsessed. It totally brought the whole room together. I plan to get a customized frame for the outside to make it look even more like art and I cannot wait to change up the picture all the time! Once my holiday garland is off the top of the TV console, Iβll get more trinkets/decor as well.
My mom gave me the couch and two chairs, and they are sooo old I donβt even know where she got them from. My rug is a 4 x 6 and wonβt break the bank! I do wish it was a little bigger, but I recycled it from my old apartment in Chicago so I was making due with what I had. I will probably swap that out at some point. All of my throw pillows are from Pier 1, which unfortunately went out of business so I cannot link πtable lamps linked here. My floor lamp was from Home Goods, but this one is extremely similar (honestly might even be the same one). I use this wicker basket to store extra blankets, but my favorite blanket of all time is my Barefoot Dreams one! They sell out like hotcakes, but if you browse Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack you can find them on sale usually. My planter is from Home Goods and is pretty unique so I couldnβt find a similar one, but the plant itself is from Amazon and under $70!
My white ottoman has been put through the ringer, yβall. After surviving living with my slob kabob of a roommate, with more stains than you could imagine, I got her professionally cleaned and now sheβs brand spankinβ new!! The silver tray is from West Elm (amazing quality, Iβve had it for years and years and itβs stayed in perfect shape). XOXO board is also from Home Goods, but I linked a couple other cute versions! The prints behind the couch are all old besides this one. Comes in a bunch of different sizes. Ooh la la. The mix and match side tables brought the room some dimension it neededβ I found both for you guys here and here. All picture frames are from guessssss where? Home Goods!! I kept all the photos sentimentalβ my Mona and the dogs I grew up with π₯°
My favorite little area of the basement is by the console table with the mirror on top. I already had the storage bench (passed down from my mom) and I really wanted to make it work somehow. I had the idea of tucking it under a console table, that way if I have guests over we can always pull it out and use it for seating too! My sister got me this cane detailed table for my birthday. The lamp on top is actually from my grandparents house π₯ΊI just swapped out the shade to modernize it a bit. Not only does it feel kind of vintage, but it holds a special place in my heart now π€ I got this mirror from Horchow. Look familiar?! Itβs almost identical to the famous Anthropologie mirror, just 1/3 of the price!
My bar cart is also a recycled piece of furniture, LOL. It used to be a little bookshelf (budget friendly btw), but since the black matched so perfectly with the room, I converted it a lil bit π€ͺThe wine organizer on the wall is also very, very old, and I could not find something close to it. Mackenzie Childβs is my fav, so I was gifted this wine bucket and ice scooper for my birthday. The rest of the decor is from Amazon and linked at the bottom of this post!
Last but not least, in a random area of negative space, I decided to add a full length mirror to make it look more open. I put a floor vase with pampas grass behind it to create a bit of a boho vibe. There is a bathroom downstairs but itβs not 100% complete, so Iβll have to save that for another time π
